Frequently Asked Questions Regarding Club Elani

Q: GENERAL: CAN WE BRING OUR PETS WHEN COMING FOR THE DAY OR STAYING OVER?

A: Absolutely not! We do not allow any pets at all, simply because we have our own that have free range of the club and farm. Home-owners are the only guests that are allowed to bring their own dogs, which are kept on a leash at all times, unless on their plots. Should you have a pet with you, you will be asked to remove him/her from the club immediately. There is amazing kennels/cattery available at Moorreesburg Vet Clinic if you need to house him/her for a few nights: 022 433 4883

Q: ACCOMMODATION: HOW DO I MAKE A RESERVATION?

A: Easy, just email mandy@clubelani.co.za—all our reservations are done via email and not on the phone. Once the reservation is made, you will be notified and depending on arrival date, the confirmation and deposit details will be sent to you. Should you reservation be made 2 months ahead of the current date, then the confirmation and deposit details will only be sent out 1 month prior to the arrival date. Please do allow a 24 hour turn-around time for the volume of request emails sent on a daily basis. We are not always at our desks as besides having the club, we also have kids in school, run the farms and our own households. Remember, each one of the office ladies have their assigned duties, meaning you will not be able to book a function with Mandy and neither will you be able to book accommodation with Caren.

Q: ACCOMMODATION: HOW DO I KNOW MY RESERVATION HAS BEEN CONFIRMED?

A: Once you have received your confirmation, paid your deposit and sent the proof of payment and signed confirmation back to Mandy, you will receive an email stating your reservation is confirmed. Should you send a proof of payment directly from the bank, with no signed confirmation, you will not receive notice of your confirmed reservation. Unfortunately reservations do not have access the bank account and therefore cannot check deposits received, so it is of great importance that the POP is sent via email to Mandy.

Q: ACCOMMODATION: IN TERMS OF COOKING, WHAT EXACTLY DO I NEED TO BRING ALONG WHEN STAYING IN YOUR COTTAGES?

A: All our cottages have their own two plate stove with ovens, fridge with small freezer compartment, cutlery ie knives, forks, plates, etc for the amount of people staying in the cottage as well as their own pots and pans and a kettle and toaster. In some cottages, there will be a two plate stove and microwave as opposed to the 2 plate stove with oven.

Except for Elani 2, the Budget Accommodation, for Elani 2, you need to bring everything yourself.

Q: ACCOMMODATION: WHAT MUST I BRING FOR BEDDING?

A: We do supply pillows and depending on which week, the beds will either have their fitted sheets on, or throw-overs to protect the mattresses, therefore you only need to bring your own duvet/sleeping bags. Unfortunately we do not supply bedding at all. Except for Elani 2, the Budget Accommodation, for Elani 2, you need to bring your own pillows, fitted sheets and duvets/sleeping bags.

Q: ACCOMMODATION: IS THERE A BRAAI FACILITY AT MY COTTAGE OR CAMPING SITE

A: Hell yes, we cannot possibly expect you to braai without one of our special drums, just please bring your own braai grid, as there are only fixed grids on our braai drums.

Q: ACCOMMODATION: I WORK ON FRIDAYS, CAN I STILL ARRIVE LATER THAN 19H00?

A: Yes, we will make special arrangements for our valued guests if you may arrive a bit later than usual. There is always someone on the premises that can assist you and book you in. Please just let Mandy know via email that she can make arrangements with whoever is on duty that evening.

Q: ACCOMMODATION: MAY I HAVE GUESTS VISIT ME DURING MY STAY?

A: Of course yes, they come in as day visitors, therefore they can arrive after 8am and must vacate the premises again by 6pm on the same day.

Q: ACCOMMODATION: WHAT HAPPENS IF MY DAY VISITORS DECIDE TO STAY THE NIGHT WITH ME?

A: Not a problem at all, just report to the office during office hours (8am—5pm) and inform the lady working at front desk.

Q: DAY VISITORS: WE WANT TO ARRIVE EARLIER THAN THE 8AM IN THE MORNING?

A: We only make exceptions for this for events, such as fishing competitions, regattas, etc organised with ourselves. If you arrive before 8am in the morning, the gate will not be open.

A: Yes, there certainly is, just bring along your own braai grid.

Q: DAY VISITORS: IT’S SO NICE HERE, DO I  REALLY HAVE TO LEAVE TO AT 6PM?

A: Yes, you have had a fun day and it’s now time for the guests that have booked accommodation to settle down for the evening. We make no exceptions here either, day visitors simply must vacate the Club by 6pm, or pay for another day.

A: Of course you may.

Q: GENERAL: I DON’T HAVE A SKIPPERS LICENCE, OR A COF OR A BOUYANCY CERTIFICATE?

A: Unfortunately, we cannot make any exceptions to the rule in place. You must have these with you and they must be valid. We do, however, keep copies of all Skipper’s, COF’s and Bouyancy Certificates so if you have lost yours somewhere, Front Desk can send you copy once the R100 retrieve fee has been paid.

Q: GENERAL: WHAT ELSE DOES CLUB ELANI DO IN TERMS OF FUNCTIONS?

A: We have a huge venue that can offer day, weekend or week long functions, we cater ourselves and therefore do not allow outside caterers. With the Koringsaal, that can seat up to 250 delegates comfortably for a

conference, or a wedding at around 180 guests, we can cater for just about all your needs. Just drop Caren an email.
